Feature in Design Section of The New York Times
This fall I got to photograph an amazing Olson Kundig home and Johannes Giradoni art installation in Spokane for The New York Times. Capturing the relationship between the forested land, the house and 'The Infinite Room' was a highlight this year. I loved the calmness and the infinite scale the sculpture invoked as well as the use of on-site materials such as granite boulders and fallen pine trees for the house. It was fun to be back in my hometown on assignment for the Times. Unfortunately, the forest fires were raging in the NW and the air was really smokey. I did my best to use the soft light and avoid showing the red-tinted sky. Read the full article here.
